Hi, we're Jeremy and Anne, creators of the Butternub.
We were two crazy kids who chased a dream of opening a neighborhood bakery. In 2010, we founded our artisanal Bakery Lorraine and grew it from a farmer’s market stand to an award-winning Central Texas staple. We used the best ingredients we could find, refined our techniques, kept our standards high, and treated our neighbors well, which earned us a lot of recognition along the way, including one of the Best Bakeries in the South on Southern Living, Top 100 Bakeries in the US on Food and Wine, and 13 Destination Bakeries on Condé Nast. Twelve years and a James Beard nomination later (Outstanding Pastry Chef 2023), we’re taking our passion in a new direction: bringing nourishing and flavorful sweets to a wider audience—more than a bakery ever could.

We often get asked what makes a sablé different from a standard cookie. Pronounced“sah-blay,”it’s a classic French butter cookie with a history we’ve always admired.
